In 2001 Andreas Tilliander caught the attention of many with his album 'Ljud', released in march by the acclaimed german label Mille Plateaux. The album could probably be filed under the young genre 'click electronica', but instead of making an album based on clicks Tilliander was focusing on the rhythms and beats of hiphop but also on the baselines and echoes of dub. 'Ljud' got nominated for a Grammy in Sweden, in a category in which E-Type and Ace Of Base are often representing dancemusic. Swedens biggest newspaper called Tilliander "the best house music producer of this year" and when the national radio station was summing up the past year they said about 'Ljud': "this years best electronic album".

Coming from almost nowhere, Andreas Tilliander soon became one of the big and respected artists in electronica worldwide. Depending on the release, the ambience varies in density and the rhythms vary in prevalence. He has different aliases and is working without any musical boundaries, whether it's ambient, techno, dub, microsound, glitch and so on. The American magazine 'Grooves' recently said that Tilliander is responsible for two groundbreaking albums:'Ljud', but also the album 'Cliphop', that Andreas released as Mokira on Raster Noton in 2000.

Rechord is Tilliander's latest project and is his most experimental, ambient and minimal workto date, without losing his feel for popmusic.
